Why does Metwall use twisted nails instead of flat stakes?

Flat stakes bend or twist the moment they strike a rock or tree root, which makes installation slow and frustrating. Metwall’s 10mm-thick, 300mm twisted nails drive cleanly through tough Australian ground conditions and they’re consistently the feature our professional installers praise most.

What makes the Easy Joiner so good?

The Easy Joiner creates a seamless, locked joint with a single bolt. No tek screws, rivets, drill bits, pliers, or angle grinders required — just tighten the bolt and the joint is done.

If I cut the edging, do I need to drill holes to rejoin it?

No. The Easy Joiner slides straight into a cut end. Tighten the bolt and the joint is locked — no drilling, no extra hardware, no extra trips to the hardware store.

Do I need to screw the stakes or joiner to the edging?

No. Metwall’s FormFlow edging uses an integrated slide-in system, so there are no screws or fixing holes. Seamless means seamless.

Why aren’t the stakes welded on?

Pre-welded stakes lock you into fixed positions. When you hit a rock or root on site, you can’t adjust.

Metwall’s slide-in stake system lets you position every stake exactly where your ground conditions allow a flexibility installers quickly appreciate.

Do you offer galvanised or powder-coated edging?

Yes, both, and it looks mighty fine, if we say so ourselves.

What other products does Metwall sell?

Do you offer refunds or returns on unused products?

Yes. Unused products in original condition (free of rust) can be returned to Metwall or your local distributor for a refund, in line with Australian Consumer Law.

Can I buy Metwall edging anywhere else?

Is there a minimum order?

No. You can order a single twisted nail or a kilometre of edging ( though we won’t pretend we don’t prefer the latter).

Why is Metwall more expensive than big-box hardware edging?

Cheaper edging is typically lighter, thinner, and sold in shorter lengths. Metwall edging includes the Easy Joiner, slide-in bracketry, 10mm-thick 300mm twisted nails, and a completely seamless finish. The difference is quality you can feel and see.

Does FormFlow edging bend?

Yes. Formflow edging forms gentle curves with ease. For tight curves, choose Formflow Flexi, which bends up to 180 degrees.

Why don’t you offer free shipping?

Our products exceed standard postal weight and size limits, so they can’t be sent through Australia Post. The upside: our longer lengths mean you buy fewer pieces to complete your project, and we offer personalised delivery with timing and placement to suit your needs in most cases.

What’s the difference between Metwall edging and $30 budget edging?

The difference is in the details: modular, seamless, smooth to the touch, and backed by near-daily feedback from professional landscapers that it’s the best edging system on the Australian market.

Are Metwall products Australian made and owned?

Yes, this is a core value for us. Our products are made in Australia, from Australian materials where available, supporting local jobs and manufacturing. Laser cutting, powder coating, and hardware are all sourced locally, and our steel is Australian whenever available.

Can you cut the edging to size for me?

Yes. Custom cutting is available for a small fee, and simple cuts may be free of charge when time allows

Do you make custom products?

Yes. Bespoke products made to suit your needs are a key Metwall capability, with lead times of up to two weeks depending on current workloads

Do you install edging?

We can connect you with our recommended trades for projects of any size, from 5 metres to 2 kilometres. That said, our systems are designed so almost anyone can install them and create beautiful garden borders.
